Cerous nitrite, Ce(NO2)3

Cerous nitrite, Ce(NO2)3.xH2O, is extremely soluble in water, from which it separates in transparent, amber-yellow crystals. The solid salt is very unstable, and its aqueous solution also readily decomposes when warmed, so that the salt has not been obtained in a state of purity.
