Cerous dithionate, Ce2(S2O6)3

Cerous dithionate, Ce2(S2O6)3.24H2O, is extremely soluble in water (Jolin). The hydrate with 15H2O separates from solution at 15°-17° in triclinic crystals (a:b:c = 0.5917:1:1.1912; α = 81°26', β = 105°21', γ = 86°38') of density 2.288; the hydrate with 3H2O separates above 20°, in triclinic crystals (a:b:c = 0.5807:1:1.2030; α = 89°25', β = 96°9', γ = 96°18') of density 2.631. A hydrate with 12H2O is also known.
